Honey Box Live is a live broadcast music show...
Honey Box Live is a professionally delivered live-music broadcast project that supports emerging and grassroots artists through high-quality performance opportunities and structured development activity. Each event transforms an existing venue into a temporary broadcast studio, combining a live audience with a multi-camera recording environment. This provides artists with broadcast-ready content, increased visibility, and experience of professional production standards.
Alongside the live broadcast, the programme includes two complementary strands. Honey Comb and Honey Box Hive.
Backed by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and based at King Street Studios, the hive is already making an impact. A survey of local musicians with over 120 responses allowed them to tailor the Hive programme to specific local and industry needs.

Hive workshops form the industry-facing strand of Honey Box Live, designed to improve understanding of how the music sector operates beyond performance. These sessions are structured as practical workshops, facilitated talks, panels or guided conversations, bringing together experienced practitioners from across the live, recorded and publicly funded music landscape.
Content typically covers the practical realities of live music booking, working with live audio, routes into sync and publishing, public funding mechanisms, and even songwriting skills development.
Sessions are delivered in accessible language and grounded in real-world experience, helping participants to better understand decision-making processes, expectations and constraints within the industry.
Honey Comb is a series of regular events designed specifically for musicians and the wider community, including:

Honey Comb brings artists together to share experience, exchange ideas and build meaningful professional relationships, both on and off stage.
Sessions feature a stripped back, live performance from a local artist combined with live interview. The audience is activley encouraged to join in with questions, and the relaxed atmosphere encourages the guests to collaborate, network and offer other fellow musicians support alongside shared experience.
Combined with the live broadcast and Hive workshops, Honey Comb forms part of an integrated delivery model that links performance, skills development and industry understanding, supporting artist progression while strengthening local music infrastructure and networks.
